Finance

Follow the finance process across systems, with the decision attached to every handoff.

Procurement, billing, payments and accounting each hold part of the financial process. The work between them often lives in separate integrations, exports and review queues. Nexus brings those handoffs onto one execution layer, carrying the source reference, applicable checks, approval and destination response together while your financial systems retain their own records.

The work

What finance runs on Nexus

  1. Purchase-to-pay coordination

Carry approved invoices and procurement exceptions through matching, coding and the required ERP action. Keep the document, discrepancy and finance decision connected as the work crosses systems.

  2. Commercial agreement to collection

Connect the approved sales commitment to invoicing, payment context and follow-up. Return the relevant processing status to the team responsible for the customer relationship.

  3. Payment and settlement reconciliation

Compare payments, invoices, marketplace activity and bank transactions under defined matching rules. Route unresolved differences to the finance owner with the references needed to investigate.

  4. Close and reporting preparation

Assemble period data, reconciliations and reviewed adjustments into a traceable close process. Preserve the source and approval behind each released result.

  5. Document and exception interpretation

Use a selected model where invoices, contracts or exception descriptions need to be read and interpreted. Connect the resulting proposal to the same validation and approval path as the rest of the process.

Consolidation

One layer, not one integration at a time

An export can complete successfully while the related posting is still waiting for review in another tool. Nexus connects those stages within a common execution model: versioned rules, explicit approval steps, recorded system calls and a defined exception path. Finance can inspect the run from source document to destination reference, identify the stage that needs attention and change the relevant workflow rule without reconstructing the process from separate logs and email threads.

Ownership

Where a person decides

The named finance owner approves actions that move money, reallocate payments or change posted documents. Procurement and contract owners provide the decisions within their remit, while routine checks and routing follow the configured policy. The workflow pauses at the required approval, records the decision and applies the reviewed action through a separate system step.

Talk to a solutions engineer

Bring one finance process you want to consolidate

We will map the handoffs it crosses today, where the approval belongs, which steps stay deterministic and what the run record has to show afterwards.

  • Runs on your infrastructure, including air-gapped.
  • Your systems keep their own records.
  • Existing automation can be invoked rather than rewritten.

FAQ

Finance: common questions

Does Nexus replace the ledger or procurement application?
No. Existing systems retain their financial and operational records; Nexus coordinates the process between them and records the configured actions and decisions.
We already have scripts, integrations and RPA; what changes?
The consolidation target is the execution path: its rules, approval points, exception handling and evidence. Existing automation can be assessed for migration or invoked through a supported interface with the returned outcome attached to the run.
What happens when an ERP operation has no pre-built action?
The workflow can use the permitted API, protocol, database operation or Rules + Code, with the same approval and execution-record approach applied to that step.
Where can we explore the model-assisted finance work?
See AI for finance operations at /solutions/ai-for-finance for document reading, matching exceptions and close-review tasks within these wider processes.
