Customer service

Keep the customer's case connected to the work that resolves it.

The service desk may receive the request, but resolution can depend on sales context, an order record, an engineer or a field team. Nexus runs the handoffs between those systems on one execution layer, preserving the customer reference, operational owner and approved update. Existing case and operational applications keep their records while the workflow makes the path between them inspectable.

The work

What customer service runs on Nexus

  1. Request intake and case routing

Validate the incoming request, identify the responsible service and establish the linked work item. Apply established routing rules or model-assisted classification as the process requires.

  2. Order and service exceptions

Connect the customer issue to the relevant order, fulfillment or administrative context. Route the required operational decision and return the selected status to the customer-facing team.

  3. Support-to-engineering escalation

Carry the case context and reviewed escalation brief into engineering work. Link the resulting issue, progress and resolution so each team can follow the same handoff.

  4. Commercial and service follow-up

Coordinate lead-to-account transfers, appointment administration and related service tasks across the appropriate owners. Preserve the record relationships and permitted communication at each stage.

  5. Reviewed replies and field guidance

Bring approved knowledge and case or asset context into agent drafts and technician-facing answers. Model steps, where used, remain connected to the review and sending or operational process.

Consolidation

One layer, not one integration at a time

A case link alone does not show whether engineering accepted the work, which update reached the customer or who approved the proposed remedy. Nexus records those transitions in one execution path, using a common approach to rules, approvals and exceptions. Service leaders can follow a request across team boundaries, locate the stalled stage and inspect the corresponding system response instead of combining the histories of separate scripts and ticket automations.

Ownership

Where a person decides

The named service owner decides consequential escalations and approves the customer-facing content required by policy. Engineering and field owners authorize work within their remit, while finance or commercial owners approve refunds and concessions. The workflow preserves these boundaries and performs the approved communication or system action through a distinct recorded step.

Bring one customer service process you want to consolidate

We will map the handoffs it crosses today, where the approval belongs, which steps stay deterministic and what the run record has to show afterwards.

  • Runs on your infrastructure, including air-gapped.
  • Your systems keep their own records.
  • Existing automation can be invoked rather than rewritten.

FAQ

Customer service: common questions

Does this replace our CRM or service desk?
No. Those applications retain their records; Nexus coordinates the cross-system process and returns the references and status each owner needs.
How is this different from another ticket synchronization?
Synchronizing fields is one operation. The workflow also carries the rules, owner decisions, exception path and destination outcomes that explain how the case progressed.
Can different teams see different parts of the case context?
Yes. The workflow design defines permitted source fields, destinations and reviewer access, including which internal notes or customer details may cross a team boundary.
Where can we explore AI for service operations?
See AI for customer service operations at /solutions/ai-for-customer-service for triage, escalation summaries, reviewed replies and field guidance within the wider service process.
