Governance
Evidence as a by-product of execution, not a project before the audit.
Instead of assembling proof after the fact, Nexus captures the record of what ran, who approved it and under what policy at the moment work happens. That record is organised against the frameworks your organisation reports against and produced as a report when an auditor asks for it.
- at the moment work happens
- Capturedat the moment work happens
- to the frameworks you report against
- Mappedto the frameworks you report against
- on your own infrastructure
- Retainedon your own infrastructure
- reports, not a pre-audit scramble
- On demandreports, not a pre-audit scramble
The buyer problem
Audit season means weeks spent reconstructing what already happened.
Approvals lived in email. Infrastructure changes lived in a CI log that rotates after ninety days. Access grants lived in a spreadsheet nobody kept current. When an auditor asks for evidence of a control, the answer is a scramble to reconstruct records that should have existed the moment the work happened.
The underlying problem is not a lack of controls. It is that evidence of the controls was never captured as a structured, retained record in the first place.
What changes
Evidence exists because work ran through a governed system, not because someone wrote it down.
- When evidence is created
- At the moment a workflow, approval or infrastructure action executes, not weeks later during audit preparation.
- Where it is stored
- Inside your own environment, alongside the execution record it describes, rather than in a separate compliance tool.
- How it maps to frameworks
- Captured records are organised against the categories of the frameworks you report against, using "aligned with" or "maps to" language rather than a certification claim.
- How it is produced for review
- A report is compiled from existing records on request, instead of being assembled by hand.
How it works mechanically
Execute, capture, map, retain, produce.
- Stage 01
Execute
Work runs as usual
A workflow, an approval, an infrastructure change or a red-team run executes as part of normal operations, not as a separate compliance exercise.
- Stage 02
Capture
Steps are recorded as they happen
Each step, decision and approval is captured at the moment it occurs, as part of the execution record rather than a retrospective write-up.
- Stage 03
Map
Records map to framework categories
Captured records are organised against the categories of the frameworks your organisation reports against, so evidence does not need re-tagging later.
- Stage 04
Retain
Evidence is retained with integrity
Records are retained on your own infrastructure, with the ability to demonstrate they have not been altered since capture.
- Stage 05
Produce
A report is generated on demand
When an auditor asks for evidence of a control, the relevant records are compiled into a report rather than assembled from scratch.
Worked example
An access review request becomes audit-ready evidence automatically.
Execution log
The workflow, action or approval as it actually ran, including who triggered it and what result it produced.
Approval record
Who approved a change or exception, when, and any comment attached to the decision.
Policy version
The version of the policy or rule set in force at the time the action ran, not just the current version.
Framework mapping
The control category the record supports, so it can be presented as evidence for a specific requirement rather than a raw log.
What you get
A retained, mappable evidence trail across the systems Nexus orchestrates.
Continuous capture
Every governed workflow, approval and infrastructure change contributes to the evidence trail as it runs, rather than being logged separately.
Framework-aligned structure
Records are organised so they map to the control categories of the frameworks your organisation reports against.
On-demand reporting
A report for a specific control or time period can be produced from existing records, rather than assembled from scratch under deadline.
On frameworks
Evidence produced this way is aligned with, or maps to, the categories of the frameworks you report against. It does not constitute certification, and Nexus does not claim to certify your organisation against any standard.
Where it deploys
Runs on the same execution layer as the work it evidences.
No separate compliance system
Evidence capture is built into the workflow engine, approval model and audit record used across Nexus, rather than requiring a parallel compliance tool to be kept in sync.
Data stays under your control
Execution records, approvals and evidence reports are retained inside your own environment, whichever deployment model you run.
Architecture session
Stop assembling evidence the week before an audit.
We will show how execution records already produced by your workflows can be mapped to the frameworks you report against.
