Nexus licensing
Nexus licensing
This policy describes the licensing model, integrated components, maintenance and contractual support for the Nexus platform.
Questions about this page can be sent through our contact form.
Manufacturer and platform
Nexus is developed, maintained and distributed by BlackForge as the manufacturer of the platform.
The platform is delivered as a unitary distribution combining orchestration, automation, identity and access management, service and API exposure, observability, infrastructure administration, and the data and processing components required by applications built on it. Integrated open-source components are elements of the distribution and receive the platform’s support and maintenance services.
Licensing model
Nexus may be licensed through a perpetual license or a subscription, according to the commercial configuration agreed for each implementation. The licensing metric may be established per organisation, instance or environment; quantities and associated services are specified in the commercial offer. Integrated open-source components retain their own licenses and do not generate separate licensing fees.
Support services
We provide professional technical support for the platform and its integrated components at the service levels and for the duration established contractually. The commercial offer and contractual SLA specify availability, support duration, incident severity levels and differentiated response times. Requests are handled through a dedicated channel with logging and traceability.
The Support Policy describes the general support standards and exclusions. Customer-specific service levels remain subject to the applicable agreement.
Maintenance and security
We monitor upstream sources of the integrated components, evaluate and triage security vulnerabilities, and deliver security patches and updates as part of the Nexus distribution. Maintenance includes planned updates and mechanisms for urgent fixes throughout the contracted maintenance and support period.

Lifecycle and supported versions
Platform and component versions are aligned, tested and maintained within the Nexus distribution for the contracted support duration. Supported versions are listed above. At delivery, the version indicated in the offer or the latest available supported version is used under the conditions of the award documentation.
Component licenses
Integrated components are distributed under their own licenses, including PostgreSQL License, Apache-2.0, BSD, MIT and ISC; some use the source-available Timescale License or copyleft GPL-2.0/LGPL terms. Integration, redistribution and commercial support remain subject to the respective component license terms.
Procurement and contact
Nexus licenses and support services are contracted directly from the manufacturer or through authorised distributors and partners. For offers, partner authorisations and licensing details, contact contact@blackforge.ro.
