Evidence pack for a periodic regulatory report

Reporting figures and the evidence supporting their release are collected in separate files that are difficult to review as one period-specific record. Reporting reviewers receive a versioned pack connecting report figures to source extracts, reconciliation results and release approvals.

Versioned rules, reconciliations and template or Rules + Code steps assemble the defined material deterministically, with no model step in this use case. Core banking, lending, policy administration, claims, identity verification, KYC and sanctions screening have no pre-built Nexus connector. They are reached through the institution's approved APIs, database access or vendor interfaces, or as Rules + Code, inside the same workflow and with the same approvals and audit.

How it starts: The reporting owner releases a defined reporting period for evidence-pack preparation.

Step by step

How the process runs

  1. 01

    Fix the reporting scope

Record the period, entities, report definition and required approvals in the designated ServiceNow review process.

  2. 02

    Collect the approved figures

Read the authorized Snowflake reporting dataset and SAP financial references, using permitted source-system interfaces for any additional required inputs.

  3. 03

    Reconcile the pack

Deterministic rules compare control totals, period boundaries and source versions, linking each report section to its supporting extracts and checks.

  4. 04

    Assemble the evidence

Build the defined pack through template and code steps, including release decisions, unresolved exceptions and the selected source references.

  5. 05

    Review and release

The named reporting owner approves the exact pack version before Microsoft 365 distributes it to the authorized reviewers.

Control

Human decision and exception path

Human decision

The named reporting owner approves the evidence-pack version and recipients before release. Any correction to posted SAP records and any external regulatory submission follow their separate approval processes; pack approval alone authorizes neither.

Exception path

  • Incomplete periods, unresolved control-total differences or missing approvals hold release with the outstanding items listed.
  • A revised source extract creates a new pack version and refreshes the affected reconciliations and approvals.
  • Failed delivery retains the approved pack and recipient scope for controlled follow-up rather than marking distribution complete.

Evidence

What gets audited

  • Reporting scope, dataset versions and SAP source references.
  • Reconciliation-rule versions, control totals and exception dispositions.
  • Pack version, release approvals and named decision owners.
  • Microsoft 365 distribution result and authorized recipient record.

FAQ

Questions about this use case

Does Nexus replace any of these systems?
No. Each system keeps its own records. Nexus runs the process between them and records each decision.
How does the run start?
The reporting owner releases a defined reporting period for evidence-pack preparation.
What if a step is not covered by a pre-built action?
Versioned rules, reconciliations and template or Rules + Code steps assemble the defined material deterministically, with no model step in this use case. Core banking, lending, policy administration, claims, identity verification, KYC and sanctions screening have no pre-built Nexus connector. They are reached through the institution's approved APIs, database access or vendor interfaces, or as Rules + Code, inside the same workflow and with the same approvals and audit.
Does preparing the pack certify that a regulatory reporting obligation has been satisfied?
No; it organizes the defined figures, checks and decisions for review, while the institution remains responsible for report scope, interpretation and submission.
