Cloud & IT Operations integration
Make the SAP-to-Snowflake data handoff repeatable and inspectable.
Nexus can extract the SAP data approved for analysis, validate its scope and load it into the agreed Snowflake structures. Batch boundaries, source references, transformations and load outcomes stay recorded, so the analytics team can distinguish a completed run from a complete dataset.
The problem
Why Snowflake + SAP needs a governed process
A successful connection says little about whether every required company, period or changed record arrived. Partial extractions and changed field mappings can make dashboards disagree with ERP. Re-running a batch without a defined merge strategy can add duplicates rather than repair the missing data.
Responsibility
How the systems divide responsibility
Analytical data platform
Snowflake
Analytical tables, curated datasets and downstream reporting transformations.
Operational and financial source
SAP
ERP transactions, master data and authoritative operational document state.
Capabilities
What Nexus orchestrates
Pre-built action groups used in this pattern. Anything else runs through an API, protocol or database step, or Rules + Code, in the same workflow.

How work starts
Webhook, schedule or API poll
A reporting dataset is due for refresh, an approved source period is ready, or a corrected extraction is released for replay.

Workflow patterns
What teams run across Snowflake + SAP
01
Scoped ERP extraction
Read the approved companies, record types and date range through the SAP interfaces permitted for the deployment.
02
Validated warehouse load
Check required fields and source keys, then stage and load into the agreed Snowflake tables using the configured append or merge rules.
03
Completeness reconciliation
Compare source control totals and loaded results where available. Flag missing records or amount differences before marking the dataset ready.
04
Controlled replay
Reprocess a selected failed batch or period without repeating accepted records, using the agreed keys and merge strategy.
Direction and ownership
Which way each change moves
The principal data flow is from SAP into Snowflake. Snowflake returns load and validation outcomes to the orchestration record. That reverse operational feedback does not imply writing analytical results into SAP; any such business write-back is a separate approved workflow.
Snowflake SAP
No business-data write-back by default; a separately approved process can submit a defined ERP update.
SAP Snowflake
Authorized master and transaction datasets with source keys, extraction scope and batch context.
Control
Approvals and exception handling
Human approval
New extraction scopes, sensitive fields and changes to published dataset mappings wait for the data or ERP owner. Approved changes can be released into the next controlled load; rejected changes leave the existing dataset contract in place.
Exceptions
- Failed source reads preserve the extraction boundary and stop publication of an incomplete batch as complete.
- Schema changes or invalid source keys isolate the affected records for review.
- Failed loads are reconciled against staged and accepted records before a controlled replay.
Security, audit and deployment
Every run leaves a reviewable record
- Source interface, company scope, period and extraction parameters.
- Transformation version, source keys and batch identifiers.
- Validation totals and any approval for scope or mapping changes.
- Snowflake load requests, results and unresolved completeness differences.
Credentials for Snowflake and SAP are held in the vault and used only by the steps that need them. Role-based permissions decide who can edit, approve and run the workflow. Nexus runs on premises, in private cloud or air-gapped, so the execution record stays inside your deployment boundary. Governance and audit

See this run against your Snowflake and SAP
Bring the process you run today. We map which system owns what, where approval belongs and the steps each side needs, against your own Snowflake and SAP, not a generic environment.
- The Snowflake + SAP workflow built and run end to end.
- Where a person is asked to approve, and what they see.
- The execution record an auditor would read afterwards.
- What it takes to run this inside your own deployment boundary.

FAQ
Snowflake + SAP questions
- Is this automatically a real-time CDC pipeline?
- No. Change capture, extract frequency and SAP interface suitability are design decisions. A workflow-based load does not establish native database CDC support.
- Does Snowflake become the ERP system of record?
- No. SAP retains operational authority; Snowflake holds the selected analytical representation.
- Can the whole flow run air-gapped with live Snowflake access?
- A live Snowflake service requires approved connectivity. Nexus can run locally, but that does not make the connected cloud service part of an isolated network.
