Okta integration with Nexus
Identity changes should be approved, executed and evidenced in one place. Access changes carry risk when the request, the approval and the change live in different tools. Nexus runs the Okta step inside the same governed workflow as the request and the approval.
Pre-built actions
What you can automate
42 pre-built Okta actions, grouped by what they work on.

PRE-BUILT ACTIONS
- 01Nexus includes 42 Okta actions across Roles, User Management, Groups and Events.
Workflow
How it fits into a Nexus workflow
Okta is not listed among the current trigger sources. Identity workflows usually start from a ServiceNow request, a webhook, a schedule or another system event. Azure Active Directory is a separate listed trigger source.
A trigger source starts work. A connector action performs work. Both run inside the same governed execution.
Beyond pre-built actions
When the pre-built action is not enough
Move down one step: an API, protocol or database call, then custom logic in Python, Bash, Go, Java, .NET, PHP, PowerShell or JavaScript/TypeScript with any library. Every step uses the same secrets, approvals, history and audit.
01
Use the HTTP Request node against the Okta API when an operation is not available as a prebuilt action.
02
Use Rules + Code to check role policy, separation of duties or group rules before any change.
03
Require human approval before identity changes that policy marks as sensitive.
Examples
Workflow examples
Approved access change
A ServiceNow request is approved and the identity step runs in Okta, then the ticket is updated.
Scheduled access review support
A schedule collects assignment data through the API and code, and routes anomalies to an owner.
Coordinated productivity setup
After the identity step, a Microsoft Calendar action or related step completes the user-facing part of the change.
Deployment, trust and audit
Governance, audit and deployment
Deployment
Nexus runs on-premises, in private or sovereign cloud, or air-gapped. The step needs network reach to the system it calls, and nothing else changes.
Secrets and identity
Credentials are referenced through vault-backed secret handling and role-based access, never embedded in workflow logic.
Audit
Inputs, outputs, approvals and outcomes are written to the execution history for every run.
