CRM & ERP integration

Connect Odoo and SAP without creating a second owner for every record.

Keep an acquired business, subsidiary or migration phase operating across Odoo and SAP. Nexus can validate selected customers, products, orders and invoice references between them, with explicit ownership, review points and an execution record for each handoff.

The problem

Why Odoo + SAP needs a governed process

Two ERPs rarely agree on customer codes, product structures, tax mappings or document status. Copying records both ways spreads the disagreement. During a migration, a record created in the wrong company or period can also become an accounting problem rather than a simple synchronization error.

Responsibility

How the systems divide responsibility

Local operating ERP

Odoo

Customers, products and sales documents assigned to the Odoo business or migration scope.

Group or destination ERP

SAP

SAP company records, finance postings and operational documents assigned to the SAP scope.

Capabilities

What Nexus orchestrates

Pre-built action groups used in this pattern. Anything else runs through an API, protocol or database step, or Rules + Code, in the same workflow.

64 ACTIONS

  • Products13
  • Sales Orders12
  • Invoice10

SAP

97 ACTIONS

  • Sales Orders14

Architecture

One governed run across both systems

How work starts

Webhook, schedule or API poll

A customer or product is approved for cross-company use, an order reaches its release point, or a migration batch is ready for review.

When a pre-built action does not cover it

Pre-built ActionAPI / Protocol / DBRules + Code

Workflow patterns

What teams run across Odoo + SAP

01

Customer and product cross-reference

Match existing records before creating anything. Store both system identifiers and route ambiguous matches to the responsible data owner.

02

Sales-order handoff

Translate the released order into the destination company, currency and product structure. Create the destination document only after required mappings pass.

03

Invoice reference reconciliation

Link invoices to their originating orders and compare selected amounts and processing states. Differences become review items rather than automatic changes to posted documents.

04

Migration cutover check

Compare the approved migration scope with completed transfers. Unresolved records remain visible before responsibility moves to the destination ERP.

Direction and ownership

Which way each change moves

Ownership is agreed by company, record type and migration phase. An Odoo-owned order can create a corresponding SAP document when the business process requires it; SAP references and status return to the linked Odoo record. Shared fields have one named authority, rather than competing updates.

  • Odoo SAP

Validated customer, product and sales-document data within the agreed company scope.

  • SAP Odoo

Assigned SAP identifiers, processing outcomes and selected document status.

Control

Approvals and exception handling

Human approval

New cross-company mappings, disputed matches and records crossing the cutover boundary wait for the designated ERP or finance owner. Approval releases the validated handoff; rejection keeps the source record intact and records what must be corrected.

Exceptions

  • Missing company, customer or product mappings stop the affected transfer with its source reference.
  • A destination rejection retains the attempted payload and response for correction or policy-controlled retry.
  • Existing cross-references are checked before creation; an uncertain outcome is reconciled before another write.

Security, audit and deployment

Every run leaves a reviewable record

  • Source company, record identifier and values selected for transfer.
  • Mapping and validation rule version used for the destination.
  • Any approval decision, reviewer and timestamp.
  • Destination request, response, identifier and reconciliation outcome.

Credentials for Odoo and SAP are held in the vault and used only by the steps that need them. Role-based permissions decide who can edit, approve and run the workflow. Nexus runs on premises, in private cloud or air-gapped, so the execution record stays inside your deployment boundary. Governance and audit

Talk to a solutions engineer

See this run against your Odoo and SAP

Bring the process you run today. We map which system owns what, where approval belongs and the steps each side needs, against your own Odoo and SAP, not a generic environment.

  • The Odoo + SAP workflow built and run end to end.
  • Where a person is asked to approve, and what they see.
  • The execution record an auditor would read afterwards.
  • What it takes to run this inside your own deployment boundary.

FAQ

Odoo + SAP questions

Can we connect two live ERPs during a migration?
Yes. The workflow can separate ongoing operational transfers from migration batches, with a defined ownership boundary and cutover date.
Will every change synchronize both ways?
No. Directions and writable fields are agreed separately. Posted financial documents are not treated as ordinary editable master data.
What if our Odoo modules or SAP objects are customized?
The workflow can use the available API, SAP RFC, SOAP or code for the required operation. Field mapping and permissions are confirmed against your installations.
