ITSM & Engineering integration
Keep an Ivanti request and its ServiceNow work coordinated through migration or shared operations.
Nexus can connect selected requests, incidents and status updates across Ivanti and ServiceNow. The workflow defines which team owns each record, what information may cross the boundary and how unresolved work is reconciled during coexistence or a phased migration.
The problem
Why Ivanti + ServiceNow needs a governed process
Two ITSM systems often remain live after an acquisition or while teams migrate. The same issue can be copied into both, assigned twice and closed on one side while work continues on the other. Different status models make a blanket two-way ticket sync difficult to interpret.
Responsibility
How the systems divide responsibility
Service-management record for its assigned scope
Ivanti
Ivanti business objects, service requests, journal notes and the teams or services retained there.
Service-management record for its assigned scope
ServiceNow
ServiceNow requests, incidents, changes and configuration context assigned to its teams.
Capabilities
What Nexus orchestrates
Pre-built action groups used in this pattern. Anything else runs through an API, protocol or database step, or Rules + Code, in the same workflow.

One governed run across both systems
How work starts
ServiceNow, webhook or schedule
A request needs another service team's work, an incident crosses the ownership boundary, or an approved migration batch is released.

Workflow patterns
What teams run across Ivanti + ServiceNow
01
Cross-team request handoff
Map the source service category to the destination request type, preserve the requester context and create the linked work item.
02
Controlled status return
Translate destination states into the agreed source status or progress field without assuming both tools share the same lifecycle.
03
Selective note exchange
Transfer only the notes designated for cross-team use, preserving author and source context where the target supports it.
04
Migration completeness check
Reconcile the selected source records against destination references and hold unresolved items for the migration owner.
Direction and ownership
Which way each change moves
Either system can originate a handoff according to service or migration scope. The destination owns the work assigned to it, while the source retains its original requester record. Status and notes return through explicit mappings; an update is not reflected back indefinitely as a new change.
Ivanti ServiceNow
Qualified request or incident context, linked references and selected journal updates.
ServiceNow Ivanti
Agreed progress, resolution context and permitted cross-team notes.
Control
Approvals and exception handling
Human approval
Reassignment between organizations, migration cutover and sensitive note sharing wait for the designated service or migration owner. Approval releases the specific record scope; rejection leaves the current ownership intact with a recorded reason.
Exceptions
- Unsupported record types or missing service mappings hold the affected handoff for configuration review.
- Conflicting closure or reopening states route to the owning teams rather than forcing both tools to agree.
- Source identifiers, destination links and update-origin checks limit duplicate records and synchronization loops.
Security, audit and deployment
Every run leaves a reviewable record
- Originating request, service category and ownership decision.
- Record-type and lifecycle mappings with their version.
- Approval identity, decision and timestamp where required.
- Destination creation, note and status responses with linked references.
Credentials for Ivanti and ServiceNow are held in the vault and used only by the steps that need them. Role-based permissions decide who can edit, approve and run the workflow. Nexus runs on premises, in private cloud or air-gapped, so the execution record stays inside your deployment boundary. Governance and audit

See this run against your Ivanti and ServiceNow
Bring the process you run today. We map which system owns what, where approval belongs and the steps each side needs, against your own Ivanti and ServiceNow, not a generic environment.
- The Ivanti + ServiceNow workflow built and run end to end.
- Where a person is asked to approve, and what they see.
- The execution record an auditor would read afterwards.
- What it takes to run this inside your own deployment boundary.

FAQ
Ivanti + ServiceNow questions
- Is this only for replacing Ivanti with ServiceNow?
- No. The same ownership-based design can support ongoing coexistence between separate service teams.
- Does every Ivanti product expose the same objects?
- No. The Ivanti product, edition, object model and available APIs must be confirmed for the installation being connected.
- Will the complete ticket history be migrated automatically?
- Not by default. History, attachments and journal operations need their own scope and interface checks, separate from an operational ticket handoff.
