Enterprise use case · Shopify + Amazon Seller + Snowflake

Commerce analytics pipeline

Channel data sits in separate exports and does not reconcile. Storefront and marketplace data becomes one analytics dataset in Snowflake.

Systems involved

What each system contributes

Shopify

39 actions

  • Orders
  • Customers
  • Products
Amazon Seller

  • FBA5
  • FBM5
Snowflake

35 actions

  • Data Loading & Stages8
  • Tasks & Scheduling7
  • Tables6
  • Views6

Shopify actions cover these areas without full create, update and delete for every object. Other Shopify operations use the Shopify API or Rules + Code. Amazon Seller pre-built actions cover FBA and FBM fulfilment operations. Marketplace data outside those actions is read through the Amazon Selling Partner API and normalized in Rules + Code. No Amazon trigger is used: a schedule, HTTP poll or webhook starts the run.

Architecture

One governed run

Trigger: scheduleIntegration: Shopify + Amazon SellerRules + CodeSystem Action: SnowflakeAudit

How it starts: A schedule starts the run. Neither channel provides a trigger source.

Step by step

How the process runs

  1. 01

    Channel data

Shopify orders, customers and products, and Amazon FBA and FBM context, are read.

  2. 02

    Normalize

Rules + Code converts both into one schema.

  3. 03

    Load

Snowflake data loading and stage actions load the data.

  4. 04

    Model

Snowflake tasks build tables and views for analytics.

Control

Human decision and exception path

Human decision

A data owner approves schema changes to shared views.

Exception path

  • Schema drift stops the load.
  • Partial loads are rolled back.
  • API throttling is retried.

Evidence

What gets audited

  • Source counts.
  • Normalization result.
  • Load and task runs.

FAQ

Questions about this use case

Does Nexus replace any of these systems?
No. Each system keeps its own records. Nexus runs the process between them and records each decision.
How does the run start?
A schedule starts the run. Neither channel provides a trigger source.
What if a step is not covered by a pre-built action?
Shopify actions cover these areas without full create, update and delete for every object. Other Shopify operations use the Shopify API or Rules + Code. Amazon Seller pre-built actions cover FBA and FBM fulfilment operations. Marketplace data outside those actions is read through the Amazon Selling Partner API and normalized in Rules + Code. No Amazon trigger is used: a schedule, HTTP poll or webhook starts the run.
